16th CONVOCATION and 20 great years Celebration

Fatima Jinnah Dental College hold its 16th CONVOCATION and 20 great years’ Celebration on Friday 22nd March 2013.Abdul Haseeb Khan, Senator, was the Chief Guest at the occasion. Other dignitaries at the occasion included Dr Muhammad Qaiser, Vice-Chancellor, Karachi University, Dr S Baqar Askari, Chief Executive, FJDC, Dr S Hussain Askari, Director, FJDC, Prof Dr Tasleem Hosein, Principal, FJDC, and Dr SM Abbas Hussain, Dean, Karachi University.

Dr Ammar Hussain Pabany was declared valedictorian at the ceremony. Along with a cash prize, this top scholar was also awarded 8 gold medals. All in all, 16 gold medals, 12 shields and 114 certificates were awarded during the course of the ceremony. A total of 75 scholars graduated with their degree in Bachelors of Dentistry.

In his keynoter address, Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the current status of budget allocation to education and health. Lauding the parents of the graduates as well as the graduates themselves, he further added that Pakistan’s future could not be an illiterate and unhealthy populace. Addressing those present at the convocation, Dr Muhammad Qaiser praised efforts undertaken by private sector for promotion of professional instruction.

He appreciated the efforts undertaken by both FJDC and the graduates in their pursuit of professional knowledge.

Dr Tasleem Hosein, Principal, FJDC, also congratulated the graduates and urged them to maintain the high standards imbibed to them by their teachers at the university. He expressed admiration for the efforts of the faculty members of FJDC in instilling fine values and quality academic instruction to the scholars. He also expressed pride in highlighting the fact that in its 20 years of existence, the faculty has held over 50 academic council meetings.
